A Better Lunchbox–Week 37, May 16 – May 19 2011
Monday
- Pasta – organic, plain, cooked that am
- Broccoli – steamed, organic & local
- Ham – nitrate free, organic ham cut into flower shapes
- Strawberries – organic & local
- Consumption: She ate almost everything! Just a few bites left.
Tuesday
- Cream cheese and strawberry jam sandwiches – organic multigrain bread, organic cream cheese, Happy Girl low sugar strawberry jam
- Peas – organic, cooked that am from frozen
- Olives – from the deli at Whole Foods
- Blueberries – organic and local
Consumption: She ate everything except for about half of the peas.
Wednesday/Thursday
On Wednesday we got to school and she wanted to come home, complaining of being really tired. So, we came back home. Since we had already made her lunch, and photographed it, I figured I’d share. I actually replaced the rice balls with fresh cooked pasta and sent her to school with this lunch on Thursday! Quite the time saver to have it all ready to go besides the pasta. I had time on Thursday to take a photo of everything that went into her lunchbox.
- Rice balls – organic sushi rice (replaced with pasta on Thursday)
- Pork chop – organic, seasoned with garlic salt and pan seared with olive oil
- Peas – organic, cooked that am from frozen
- Strawberries – organic and local
Consumption: She ate everything except for some peas.
