Steeped tea at Tim Hortons
We just spent a week in Canada, near in and around London, Ontario to be exact. One of the things I love about being up there is the fact that Tim Hortons, a Canadian rendition of Dunkin Donuts, offers steeped tea. Yes! You can walk in, get a hot cup of tea with whatever you want in it and get immediate gratification.
I usually drink black tea with milk and honey (sugar when there is no honey to be found). Through my years as an avid tea drinker I have learned that you never add milk to tea until the leaves are removed. The combination of milk and tea leaves ruins the tea flavor. So, when you are out and about and your only tea option is a cup of hot water and a tea bag you are left having to make time to stand around (looking awkward) while your tea steeps an acceptable amount of time so you can add your milk before you can be on your way. Often I don’t have those extra minutes to wait in a coffee shop for my tea to steep, which means I do without or I get a coffee.
So…hooray for Tim Hortons steeped tea!! And a little plea to other coffee chains to catch on to this simple yet wonderful idea.
