Restaurant Review: Gott’s Roadside (Napa, CA)

Gott’s Roadside
644 First Street, Napa, CA 94559
(They also have locations in St. Helena and at the Ferry Building in San Francisco)

Highly Recommended!

DSC00942We love this place. You should definitely go there at least once. It is fun for the whole family. Their subtitle “Tray Gourmet” tells it all. It is a way cool hamburger joint with varied menu options, really well made, high quality, local food that also strives to be “green” with smart packaging choices.

Here’s how it works, you go up to the counter to order your food and delicious beverages of choice (great beer, wine, milkshake and soda options), get a buzzer, grab a table and wait for your food to be ready. Then dive in!! They have indoor and outdoor seating. Get there on the early side as it can get crowded.

Take out works really well too. They have a number to call your order in ahead of time, or you can do what we did and go there, order and have a beer while you wait for your food. Since we stayed at the nearby Westin Verasa, we got take out last time we were there and were impressed by how smooth it was and how well the food was packed up. Always handy to know good take out places when traveling with a toddler!

Here’s what we have tried:

  • Hamburger – delicious! They obviously use very high quality meat, you can taste it. The secret sauce is yummy. I get the pickles on the side so my daughter can eat them…she loves them.
  • Bacon Cheeseburger – delicious.
  • Fries – good.
  • Onion rings – awesome. Made it to my, Best Of list
  • Hot dog – very good.
  • Veggie Burger – very good.
  • Chicken Fingers – very good.
  • Great drink options too from beer, to soda to milkshakes.

For those of you concerned about egg allergies, their buns do have egg in them. However, their fried chicken fingers do not have egg in them and are very tasty. Since things change all the time, please be sure to reconfirm the egg freeness of anything if that is a concern.
